Amazon Prime Day Sales Achieve Record Feat With $11 Billion in 2021

This 2021 Amazon Prime Day achieved its objectives of promoting small merchants and promoting the registrations of new members. Apparently, expectations were exceeded according to estimates by Adobe Analytics.

The Morgan Stanley analyst group estimated that Prime Day generated some $ 6.8 billion in gross merchandise sales, 9% more than the previous year. In comparison, Amazon’s top retail revenue generated around $ 3.8 billion, which means growth of around 7%. However, Bank of America analysts believe that growth had been slow but good enough to support gross value growth in the second quarter of 2021.

Of that range of discounted products that increased, the products of the Amazon-owned brands stood out, as well as that there was greater participation of external retailers. This was pointed out by Joseph Feldman, a market analyst. In the two-day event, Amazon Prime achieved a sale of 250 million items worldwide. Among the best-selling products were robotic vacuum cleaners and espresso machines.

But the leading product was definitely the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote. The biggest purchases were concentrated in Fire TVs, from brands like Toshiba and Insignia. The online offers event began on Monday 21st at midnight, and one only needed to be subscribed as an Amazon Prime customer.  

In this sense, Amazon set goals to gain subscribers, and although some only try the 30-day trial period and then unsubscribe, a large part of subscribers remain as members of Amazon enjoy the benefits offered by the platform.
